This is my weekly status post. This is just as a reminder of what was fascinating to work on over the past week. Expect some vagueness, because I want this to be 10 minutes or less.

Vacation: I have worked a total of 3 days over the last month. But that’s not the whole story. I took off the first week of July to attend Cub Scout camp with my son, but I ended up getting sick. So I took the following week off to heal and to attend Cub Scout day camp with my youngest son.
Then I had 3 days of work, followed by three days of getting prepared for Scout camp with my other son and daughters. I also managed to attend a friends wedding in there. I drove to Idaho and back to WA state.
A full week of scout camp with my oldest son, then we went back to Idaho to pick up my daughters and visit a cousin I haven’t seen in 38 years. Visting with family is definitely a big mental health break.
Take your PTO, it’s yours. This last year has been brutal mentally, and I needed the downtime. I’m so very grateful for time with my kids, time with extended family, and good vehicles that can take 100’s of miles of travel.
My sick time and my vacation time definitely came in handy this last month, and I’m grateful for an understanding manager as well.
Have a great weekend!
