I came across this article from 2018, and I really appreciate its data-driven analysis of race-related traffic stops.

I posted it to Twitter and immediately got this:

Oh.  Yeah.  “monkey-cage”.  That does not look good.  I wandered back to check out what they had to say.  Here is their about page:

I love the Mencken quote, but I do agree it is a bit tone-deaf.  Here is what I wrote to the editors.
